Stories about the number of orphans in Haiti that were stuck in the aftermath of the earthquake drew national attention to the potential options for inter-country adoptions, but there is also a need for adoptions within the United States as well. Bonnie Deur with Bethany Christian Services in Pella says her branch handles 30 to 35 adoptions annually that pair either Iowa families or infants from Iowa together.
