Just a little more than a day after facing a top-ranked, undefeated team in Class 2-A, the Pella Christian Boys basketball team will be back at it this afternoon when the Eagles host Norwalk to close out the regular season. Norwalk claimed the first meeting between the two teams 60-54, in a contest in which Pella Christian Head Coach Larry Hessing felt the team did not play at their peak. Hessing says the knowledge that they can play at the same level as the Warriors should help his team psychologically.
“I think it should make our guys confident that they can be right there with Norwalk, and there are certain things in that game that we think we could have done better,” said Hessing. “It should be a really good basketball game, and if we can get ourselves up and ready to play on a mid-Saturday afternoon, it should be a really fun basketball game.”
Pella Christian is 14-5 overall this season. The final Little Hawkeye Conference boys basketball game of the season will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS, with Jamie Brockman live at Pella Christian with the play-by-play call this afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for around 3:30 p.m., with pre-game coverage to start fifteen minutes prior.
