The ascent of the Central College wrestling program this season has led to Head Coach Eric Van Kley being named Iowa Conference wrestling co-coach of the year. Van Kley shared the honor with Cornell College Coach Mike Duroe.

In just his third season at the helm, Van Kley guided the Dutch to their first winning campaign in nine years and finished seventh out of nine teams at the Iowa Conference tournament this week with a squad that features no seniors and just one junior. The seventh-place finish snapped a string of five consecutive last-place finishes for Central at the conference meet.
