A former band director at Pella High School is among twelve leaders of High School programs across the country to have been selected to receive Citations from the National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Associations. Guy Blair, who directed band at Pella High School for 32 years was selected as the NFHS Music Association Citation recipient.

The award is one of the most highly regarded achievements in high school activities. Citation recipients are individuals whose contributions have had an impact on high school activity programs. A longstanding and distinguished record of involvement with high school activity programs at the local and state levels is considered in determining recipients. Other important criteria include the administration and respect of colleagues. The 2010 Citation winners will receive their awards on July 9th at the 91st NFHS Summer Meeting in San Diego, California.
