The PCM boys had upset in mind last night and gave top ranked Des Moines Christian everything they could handle but a huge second half by the Lions ended PCM’s season with a 59-56 loss in the Class 2A District Final at ADM High School.
PCM came out on fire leading 19-15 after one quarter and eventually built up a 34-23 halftime lead. The first half was the Scott Bruxvoort show as the Mustang Sophomore poured in 17 points. The second half however was the Brandon Stubbs show as the Lions Senior star took control scoring 24 second half points to finish with 36 to lead all scorers while Bruxvoort was held to just two second half points.
PCM trailed by six points with thirty seconds to play but cut the lead to one point with eight seconds remaining. Des Moines Christian hit two free throws to take a three point lead and the Mustangs had a shot to tie at the buzzer but couldn’t hit the game tying three pointer.
Bruxvoort led PCM with 19 points and Josh Fosenburg added 12 as the Mustangs end their season 19-6 overall while Des Moines Christian improved to 25-0. PCM loses six seniors including Rand Hazleton, Joe Gilson, Matt Jennings, Drew Lyons, Tyler Norwood and Eric Wynn.
