The Central College women’s and men’s track and field teams begin competition at the Iowa Conference indoor championship meet in Storm Lake today. The Dutch have never placed first in the seven years that the meet has served as an official league championship, and both squads from Wartburg are again favored to claim team titles.

Both the Central men and women performed well last year, though, and are expected to join squads from Loras and Simpson for second place. The two-day meet begins today at 4:00 p.m. in the Lamberti Recreational Center at Buena Vista University. Action will resume Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
