The Marion County Sheriff’s office reports that Steven Pickering of Knoxville and formerly of Harvey has been named a co-conspirator in a drug manufacturing operation in Harvey that resulted in charges last month. Pickering was charged with conspiracy to manufacture a schedule II substance and two charges of burglary. Additional charges may be filed.

Last month, charges were filed against a Harvey couple who were Pickering’s alleged co-conspirators. Christina Louise Thomas and Ricky Lee Maples were charged with ongoing criminal conduct, conspiracy to manufacture a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine, child endangerment, and the pharmaceutical sales restriction and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. In addition, during the search of the home Sheriff’s Deputies found items that were confirmed to be stolen or taken through burglaries in both Marion and Mahaska counties. Both counties are pressing charges.

The Marion County Sheriff’s office reports that this is an open, on-going investigation, and that additional charges may be filed. KNIA KRLS will bring you more information as it becomes official.
