Lady Dutch 3rd at Southeast Polk Track and Field Meet
Pella’s girls track and field team opened the outdoor season Tuesday against some of the biggest schools in Iowa at the Southeast Polk Early Bird, placing 3rd as a team.

Emily McMartin placed 1st in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash races, while Meridith Rowe placed 3rd in the long jump. Pella’s 4×100 relay was 2nd fastest (:48.24), and included McMartin, Roselande Vanderhoff, Calla Kerndt, and Marissa Hackman. McMartin was excited to be a medal winner in three different events, and aims to continue being a big part of team success this spring.

“I’m excited to run fast and turn left,” she says. “And in the 100 meters, we don’t have to turn left. So even better, honestly.”
