“Listening to a Concrete Block” is the topic for this month’s Knoxville Historic Preservation Commission Fourth Thursday series. Dr. Bob Leonard will share a story about concrete blocks recently found during demolition of the old boy scout building in downtown Knoxville. Leonard says “Every person has a story, as does every item we create or use, no matter how common.” One of the blocks Leonard will talk about will soon be making a trip to the Washington D.C. area as part of an exhibit on the history of concrete in America. The talk is free and open to the public and will be held on the second floor of the Knoxville Public Library at 6:30pm tonight.
