Graveside services for Geraldine (Gerri) Sams, 94, of Knoxville will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 29th at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Visitation will be held on prior to the services from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home.

Gerri passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Westridge Nursing & RehabGerri was born August 8, 1916 at Indianola, Iowa to Jim and Edith (Bown) Chumbley. She was married to Orlin Sams on October 28, 1933. To this union were born 2 children, Melvin (Clarice) Sams of Knoxville, IA; and Virginia Gass of Albia, IA. Orlin and Gerri farmed in the Knoxville area most of their married life and both worked for the Knoxville School District. Gerri is survived by her children, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Gerri was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, her parents, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
