The Knoxville City Council met in special session this week. At the meeting the council approved the preliminary plans and specifications, formed a contract and ordered bids for roof resurfacing at both the Knoxville Recreation Center and City Hall. Mayor Don Zoutte tells KNIA/KRLS the city has set aside $123,000 for the Recreation Center repairs and bids are due by October 20th. $54,000 is set aside for the City hall resurfacing and those bids are due October 18th. The council also met with Paul Winbert from PW Consulting Services in regards to the search for a new City Manager as Dick Schrad plans to retire in the spring. Zoutte says the council will meet with another consulting company next week and will make a decision on the matter at that time.
