An accident on Highway 5/92 near 60th west of the Pleasantville Y involving a John Deere tractor and two sports utility vehicles sent two individuals to the hospital this afternoon. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Pleasantville Fire Department, Mercy Ambulance, Pleasantville Police Department, Melcher-Dallas Police Department and Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene. The accident happened approximately 4pm, and eastbound traffic was backed up for some time until one lane cleared. The cause of the accident and severity of injuries is unknown at this time.
