The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is one of the busiest times of the year for travelers, luckily the increase in motorists on the road last weekend didn’t result in a major increase in accidents in Marion County. According to Sheriff Ron Goemaat there were four motor vehicle accidents during the Thanksgiving holiday including two with more than $1,000 in damages, which he says is the average amount for this time of year. However, there was an increase in vehicle versus deer accidents this year with a total of four. Fortunately, no one was injured in any of the accidents.
