The Pella boys basketball team opened the new season in impressive fashion Saturday, holding off Mount Pleasant for a 56-54 win in Pella. The game was close from start to finish, with neither side holding more than a two point advantage at the end of each quarter; including a 31-29 lead for the Little Dutch at halftime. Pella’s offense featured a balanced scoring attack, led by 12 points from Jace Ver Steeg and 11 points from Josh Pringle. Kyle Newendorp and Chris Bandstra added 10 points apiece for the Little Dutch. The next game for the Pella boys will be Friday against Knoxville.
