The Knoxville City Council met in regular session last night. At the meeting the council approved the first reading of an ordinance amending the city code in regards to civil citations, reappointed Stacy Schone to the Knoxville Fire and Rescue department, approved a contract with Morris Tree Service for $3,490 for the 2010 tree removal program and approved the purchase of surge protection for the wastewater treatment plant for $9,780 from Automatic Systems. The council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday at 5pm to further discuss the possible purchase of an additional ambulance and equipment for the fire and rescue department.
