Even without starting point guard Sam Tvedt, Pella Christian continued their early season success with a 53-45 home win over Ballard on Monday night. As Coach Hessing anticipated, the game was close from the opening tip and did not disappoint. In a game which never saw a lead greater than 8, the Bombers and Eagles went back and forth all night.
The first half was a physical, nail biter. Pella Christian took a 29-27 lead into halftime after a last second shot by Chase Carlson.
The second half was more of the same, a high paced, intense matchup that never foreshadowed what the outcome may be.
PC was led by Chase Carlson’s double-double; 21 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Nikkel also had a double-double, crashing the boards all night and pulling down a game-high 16 rebounds and added 12 points.
Pella Christian will put their undefeated record (3-0) on the line Thursday night in a BIG matchup with rival PCM and Junior standout Scott Bruxvoort.
