It was PCM early, often, and all night in Nevada in Tuesday as the Mustangs ran away with a 63-28 Heart of Iowa Conference victory on Tuesday.
The game served as a coming out party for PCM’s Josh Fosenburg who scored a game high 22 points, including four three point baskets. The Mustangs have been looking for other contributors to step up early in the season to supplement Scott Bruxvoort’s 31 points per game average. The Mustangs opened the game on a 13-2 run and with reserves playing substantial minutes in the first half enjoyed a 42-15 lead at the halftime break. Things continued to roll PCM’s way in the second half as the lead would reach 39 points requiring the continuous clock rule to be implemented. Scoring in double figures along with Fosenburg was Scott Burxvoort with 12, 13 PCM players logged minutes in the game. Nevada was led by Nick Hauenstein’s six points, the Cubs leading scorer Tate Handsaker was held to just one two point basket, well below his 13 points per game average. With the win the PCM boys are now a perfect 5-0 on the season, 3-0 in the Heart of Iowa Conference, and will next be in action Thursday night on the road in a battle of top ten teams when they travel to #6 Pella Christian.
