The Pella City Council met in regular session last night at the Public Safety Complex. The council set the public hearing date for amending the annual budget for January 4th. The council also adopted the utility billing undercharge/overcharge policy which states that if there is an undercharge, the city will give the customer three months to repay it and if an overcharge occurs, the amount will be credited to the account. In addition, there was a policy and planning meeting immediately following where the council discussed the local option sales tax which expires in December of 2011. The council decided to give voters a chance to extend the tax, which will help fund road construction, improvements at Caldwell Park and improvement at the indoor pool. The next meeting is scheduled for December 21 at 7pm.
