With relatively low numbers and limited experience, the ability to lead is at a premium this season for the Pella wrestling squad.  The Little Dutch have three seniors out this season, including Jesse Blauw and Wes Hoksbergen – who have wrestled since they were freshmen, and Head Coach Joe Burch says while those athletes have done an admirable job of leading this year’s squad, he’s also looking to some of the younger wrestlers to step up their intensity as well. 

Burch adds that its important for his young team to understand that you don’t have to be older than the other wrestlers to be a leader and is hoping that others will accept that challenge.  Pella’s next wrestling meet at the Varsity level will be Thursday, December 16th.
