Iowa State Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven says that there will be no new legislation if it has a financial consequence as he prepares for Iowa’s 84th General Assembly. Van Engelenhoven feels like the state of Iowa is top heavy with management and that they need to focus on trying to slim down Government so that the people of Iowa have more money to spend. He adds that he has had many people ask him about making it illegal to smoke within 100 feet of a hospital, which is something that he will be looking at over the next several months. The Iowa Legislature convenes on January 10th, 2011.
