Pleasantville looks to cap off the week in fine fashion tonight as the Trojans host Martensdale St. Mary’s. The girls look to remain unbeaten but will have literally, a tall task in trying to stop Martensdale’s six/four post player Mackenzie Morrison who averages 12 points and seven rebounds and not to mention the Blue Devils are the top ranked team in class 1A. Coach Trevor Miller said his team did not play as well as it should have in a victory over Wayne on Tuesday. He adds one strategy tonight is try to get Morrison to wonder out of the paint when Pleasantville is on defense. On the boys side, Coach Tom Wilkins has been pleased with his post players Colon Thomas and Bobby Beier. He says they work well with each other and have keyed Pleasantville’s early success. Wilkins says Martensdale St. Mary’s could be one of the surprise teams in the Pride of Iowa Conference this season. The Blue Devils come in 1-1 on the season after getting shellacked by Southeast Warren on by 31 points on Tuesday.
