As part of the Kids Outdoors program at Lake Red Rock, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are offering free snowshoes for people to checkout for hiking this winter. Park Ranger Tracey Spry says that snowshoeing is a great way to burn calories this winter, and a fun way to see plenty of wildlife at Lake Red Rock. She adds that even though it is part of a kids program, anyone can participate and they have snowshoes that fit to almost any size. The Kids Outdoors Program is in it’s third season and features kayaks, canoes, GPS units for geocaching and binoculars for bird watching, all free of charge.
