Pella EMS recently received a grant for new personal protective equipment to use at fires and other accident scenes. Pella Ambulance Director Doug Polking says that they received a $2,000 grant from Theisen’s in Pella, which helped fund the 22 sets of pants, coats, boots and helmets. Polking adds that they are very grateful for Theisen’s because they only had 8 sets before and they were very worn out. The new protective sets are made of Kevlar and are much safer and warmer than the old sets.
