The Pella Christian girls basketball team will conclude the 2010 portion of the schedule tonight when they travel to Grinnell to take on the Tigers. Lady Eagles’ Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen says that Grinnell always presents a challenging game environment, but thinks his team has the advantage needed to win.
“Grinnell is always a tough place to play, and they’ve got some nice ball players. They’re going to be physical and they’re going to get after us and it’s going to be a nice little match-up for us,” said Van Maanen.
“Hopefully we can control our pace, and I still think we’ve got the advantage in pushing the ball up the floor. Hopefully we can keep pushing them and try to work in transition; get back on defense well and rebound.”
After a win over Knoxville on Tuesday, the Pella Christian girls carry a 3-1 record into tonight’s contest, and are hoping to get off to a 2-0 start in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Tonight’s Pella Christian girls basketball game will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Grillaert and Wynne Veenstra providing the call. Pregame coverage begins at 6:00 pm with tip-off between the Lady Eagles and the Tigers set for 6:15.
