For 14 of the first 16 minutes of their game with South Tama…the Knoxville girls were controlling the tempo…taking the Trojans best player…Madison Beier out of the game…and keeping the score where it needed. However nine-all tie with just over three minutes remaining in the first half South Tama went on a 15-to-nothing run to close the first half of play and it would become a 19/nothing run into the second half before Knoxville would score again. The end result was a 50-to-29 South Tama victory. Coach Jim Utiermarkt says the frustrating thing was when South Tama started turning it around…his girls began to lose confidence. Katie Ayers led Knoxville with eight points as the Panthers fall to one-and-five on the season and oh-and-three in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Knoxville plays its fourth game of the week traveling to Bondurant-Farrar tonight.
