After a lop-sided loss against Knoxville Thursday night, the Pella wrestling team is anxiously awaiting this weekend’s Pella Invitational. Joe Burch, Head Coach of the Little Dutch, says it’s always fun to wrestle in your own town and hopes that members of the community will turn out to provide a fun atmosphere for the athletes.
“It’ll be good for the community to come in and support our guys. They’re not really used to having too many friends and family members and community members come into our meets, and so hopefully we get a good crowd going and they can feed off that energy from the crowd that’s there to support us,” said Burch. “And it’s just fun to wrestle in your hometown.”
The Pella Invitational wrestling tournament begins at 10:00 am this morning at Pella High School.
