A former Knoxville resident’s a cappella group out-sung 8 other talented ensembles from across the country to be named the runners up of season two of The Sing Off last night.
John McLemore’s six-man group Street Corner Symphony had the chance to perform live with judge Ben Folds and Neil Diamond before making it two the final two and eventually losing the crown to another six-man group, Committed.
The group had a successful run on the show with their cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Down on the Corner” making its way to #88 on the most downloaded singles list on iTunes.
McLemore said it was an amazing experience that exceeded their expectations and thanks everyone in Knoxville for their votes and support.
