The Lady Dutch have been rolling as of late, starting the season 4-1 and going undefeated in conference play. Their team is led by a gang of seniors and juniors putting in hard work as well.
One of the Lady Dutch’s standout players is MaKenzie Vander Molen. She leads the team with 9.5ppg. She’s also automatic from the free-throw line, shooting 94% on the season. Coach Jerod Garland praised MaKenzie during a post-game interview. He said she’s one of the players that does “a little bit of everything”. He adds that she’s a girl with a lot of experience, and it’s apparent when you watch her play.
MaKenzie is just one of the reasons this Lady Dutch team has gotten of to a strong start here in 2010. Hats off to the girls of Pella, who’ve led their team to the top of the Little Hawkeye Conference going into the holiday break. Pella gets back on the court January 4th at home against Oskaloosa. It will be the first of 3 straight home games to start the 2011 portion of the season.
