Day two of the State wrestling tournament at Wells Fargo arena brought some ups and downs in the area ranks. For Pleasantville, Wes Prill stayed alive in the consolation bracket at 140lbs with a win over Colton Rabe of Iowa Valley 8-3. Tasker Phillips continued his winning ways for the Trojans at 145lbs with a statement win over Jake Haberman of Clarion-Goldfield, recording the fall in just 1:42. At 215lbs, Phil Lumley was knocked from the champion’s bracket with a quarterfinal loss to Zach Salisbury of Sumner-Fredricksburg who recorded the pin in 4:56. The PCM Mustangs took the mat in the evening session led by Dalton Kingery who fell to Topher Carton of Davenport Assumption 10-2 in the quarterfinals but stayed alive with a statement win of his own pinning Oscar Ramirez of Estherville Lincoln Central in 2nd round consolation action in just 1:13. Dustin Moore of PCM was eliminated from the 215lb weight class with his loss to Tom McClimon of Central Clinton, DeWitt by a 7-4 score.
