The P-C-M boys used runs in the first and third quarters of 10-0 to get some distance and escape victorious over Woodward Academy last night in the class 2A District final 62-49. In a game heard on kniakrls.com, P-C-M struggled to put the Knights away until the very end of the game as Woodward Academy would fight back and respond with a run of its every time when P-C-M world appear to pull away. Coach Fred Lorensen said the starts of the first and third quarter was key to the win. The Mustangs had to weather the storm of several Woodward Academy runs to get the win. The Mustangs balanced scoring was also big as was key defensive stops down the stretch. Josh Fosenburg led P-C-M with 17 points while Scott Bruxvoort had 12. P-C-M stays unbeaten on the season at 24-0 and will play West Marshall in the 2A Sub State Saturday night in Marshalltown.
