A representative for Senator Tom Harkin spoke with constituents in Pella Thursday morning. About a dozen people came out for the discussion, which was part of Harkin’s listening post tour through all of Iowa’s 99 counties. A variety of topics were addressed including entitlement reform, environmental regulation, the size and scope of government and the country’s military endeavors overseas. Several people in attendance spoke with KNIA/KRLS News and said they felt the discussion was productive and civil, and that their concerns were understood by Harkin’s aides. The tour is intended to seek input on how to strengthen Iowa and America’s middle class citizens.
