While Dario Franchitti dominated, it was Marco Andretti who had the car to beat after the halfway point and won Saturday night’s fifth running of the Iowa Corn Indy 250 at the Iowa Speedway. Andretti had to fight off a challenge from Tony Kanaan which was an aggressive move coming out of turn four. Andretti said after going five years between wins, it was a relief to find victory lane again. Kanaan placed second while Scott Dixon was third, J.R. Hildebrand came in fourth and Franchitti who led 172 of the 250 laps was fifth. Average speed of the race after all the early yellows was 118.671 mile an hour.
