Capping off a strong week on the softball diamond, Pella Christian rode a productive first inning to victory, defeating Norwalk 3-0 Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles had only four hits on the night – all of which came in the first inning and generated all three runs – while pitcher Paige Blom scattered six Norwalk hits, gave up two walks and struck out four batters in the shutout.
Blom had one of Pella Christian’s four hits, with her sister Morgan, Ashley Van Kooten and Paige Enbgers accounting for the other three.
The Lady Eagles finish the regular season with a 17-7 overall record and a 10-4 mark in the Little Hawkeye Conference. They would need Knoxville or South Tama to defeat Pella to clinch a share of the conference title.
