4-Hers throughout Marion County gathered at Dyer-Hudson Hall Thursday to show their non-livestock 4-H exhibits. Projects ranged from clothing to photography to a basket made of checkered duct tape. Michelle Johnson of Oskaloosa was one of the judges for the day. Johnson says she grew up in a 4-H family in Tracy and remembers her own judging days very well. She has been a judge herself now for over 20 years. Johnson explains that she enjoys the conference style of judging that they do now, as she thinks the kids learn a lot from talking through their projects with the judges.
