After six seasons, Steve Mott has decided to step away from the Knoxville Baseball Program. Mott tendered his resignation last week and was made official by the Knoxville School Board last night in their regular meeting. Mott coached Knoxville for six seasons compiling a 142-74 record. He took the Panthers to two state tournaments resulting in a semi-final berth in class 3A both trips. His best season was in 2007 when Knoxville sported a 36-6 record and rolled to the Little Hawkeye Conference title. An immediate search for Mott’s successor will start.
