The Central volleyball team jumped out to an opening-set victory over Coe College Tuesday night, but the Kohawks responded with a powerful offense of their own to deal the Dutch their first Iowa Conference volleyball loss of the season; 13-25, 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 15-8.
Coe had three players hit double-digits in kills, while Central’s top three hitters ranged between eight and eleven kills apiece. Libero Chelsea Grieger of Pella High posted a match-best 20 digs.
Coe is 15-1 overall and 1-0 in the Iowa Conference, while Central dips slightly to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in league play. The Dutch will host the Central Classic this weekend to cap-off Homecoming week.
