Toys for Tots in Marion County is beginning its big Christmas push. Marion County Toys for Tots Coordinator Earl Snider from Harvey tells KNIA/KRLS News that donation boxes have been placed in many businesses throughout the county.
Earlier, KNIA/KRLS reported that there was a concern that Toys for Tots money collection jars placed in Pella were a scam. Snider says that the collection jars were legitimate, but were placed by a Toys for Tots Mahaska County Coordinator in Pella, who mistakenly thought that Marion County didn’t have a rep. These jars will soon be removed to avoid confusion, and Snider says all money collected from those jars will go to toys for children in Marion County. Snider has coordinated the Toys for Tots efforts for the County for the past ten years. It is also possible to click here to make a monetary donation, or to get more information.
Snider says that Santa Claus is very busy, and that there are many boys and girls in Marion County who may not receive toys for Christmas this year without our help. All toys donated to Toys for Tots are delivered by the children’s parents, or by Santa Claus.
