The Marion County Board of Supervisors set a public hearing date to discuss the possible refunding of General Obligation Bonds during their regular meeting Monday morning. The public hearing will take place at their next meeting, December 27th. The bonds in question are from the 2005 Law Enforcement Center Project. County Auditor Jake Grandia told the board that Jasper County received a very favorable interest rate after refunding their bonds recently. He says that based on comparing credit ratings, Marion County could expect a rate that’s close or slightly better if market conditions stay similar.
