Despite a loss on Tuesday night – and four losses in their last five games – it still feels like the Pella Christian boys basketball team enters tonight’s non-conference game with some momentum on their side, as they make a trip to Gilbert. The Eagles made a tremendous comeback in a two-point loss to Grinnell on Tuesday night, and despite recent losses to Des Moines Christian and Norwalk, have played well in several aspects of the game.

“On defense I thought we were really good. We gave up some lay-ups, but the press that we haven’t played much – and that we don’t practice all that much – I thought we did a really good job at,” said Pella Christian boys’ head coach Larry Hessing. “I thought we rebounded well, and were aggressive at the offensive end with really good drives, so it was really fun to see [that].”

That’s Eagles’ head coach Larry Hessing. Gilbert is 7-9 overall after a one-point win over South Hamilton on Tuesday night, while the Pella Christian boys are 8-6 on the season. The varsity contest tips off at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Gilbert.
