For the second time in a three-day stretch, the Twin Cedars boys track and field team is in competition mode, as the Sabers travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg tonight for the Rocket Relays. Twin Cedars is coming off of a good showing at Tuesday’s Melcher-Dallas Invite, and head coach Aaron Allspach is hopeful for his team to continue to show progress on an individual basis tonight.
“No matter if they’re a speedy guy or not, if you’re seeing improvements with your team in any event they’re in, that’s all you can really ask for. That’s what I’d really like to see [at Eddyville] is some personal records throughout every event,” said Allspach. “Not that it’s going to happen at every meet, but going forward it’s what we’d like to see; and if we’re not seeing those, then we need to do some things to work on that.”
Allspach cited some of his team’s relays, in particular, as an area where better hand-offs and slightly improved split times would go a long way in improving the overall performance. The meet in Eddyville starts this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
