A who’s-who of sprint car racing will descend on the Knoxville Raceway this Sunday in the Inaugural Capitani Classic. The race honors former Knoxville Raceway Race Director Ralph Capitani. Many of the top sprint car drivers will run the 410 only show this Sunday. Knoxville Raceway General Manager Toby Kruse spoke with KNIA/KRLS on this past Saturday’s Live Track Side. He said expect to see some of the World of Outlaws, and a few other well-known drivers. Kruse did not say if any other racing series was going to send their drivers to Knoxville that night. He added fans can expect to see 60 or more sprint cars in the pits that night. The Capitani Classic is also a part of Southern Iowa Speed Week.
