The Bos Landen Golf Club in Pella will probably be a little greener than usual today, as supporters of Pella High School athletics will fill the course and clubhouse for the first annual Bill Van Horn Memorial Golf Outing. It’s the third year that the Pella High Athletic Booster Club has hosted the event – which raises money to support additional needs for all of the athletic teams at the Pella High School and Middle School.

Booster Club member Chad Versteeg says after the recent passing of former Pella High School Athletic Director Bill Van Horn, the organization wanted to do something to commemorate his impact on sports at Pella High. Registration to golf in the tournament is full, but Versteeg encourages the community to stop by throughout the day to share stories and support the Booster Club.

The first annual Bill Van Horn Memorial Golf Outing begins at 11:00 a.m. today and runs until approximately 5:00 p.m.
