For the first time ever, a Knoxville Hy-Vee employee is being featured on the side of semi-trailers across the upper Midwest. Kathy Rees is in charge of accounting at the Knoxville Hy-Vee, where she has worked for the past 39 years. She says that it’s a huge honor that the company chose her face to be among those on a fleet of trailers that were just purchased.

Manager Joe Milnes says that employees who wish to be considered submit head shots to headquarters, where a committee looks for the trademark “helpful smile” that Hy-Vee is famous for. Rees says she’s submitted her photo a few times in the past without any luck, but this time she’ll be oon the very center of the new fleet of trailers.

As part of being selected, Hy-Vee gave Rees five scaled-down versions of the semis for herself, friends, and family. Rees says that she'll keep hers right above her desk for as long as she works for the company. There hasn’t been a sighting in Knoxville of the new trucks yet, but a friend of Rees’s did see a truck in Des Moines and snapped a photo for her Facebook wall. Rees and Milnes both look forward to the first sighting of Kathy on a truck lumbering down Highway 14 or unloading in the back of the story in Knoxville.
