Four-Time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jeff Gordon made a stop in Knoxville yesterday to look at the Salute to Champions display at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame that honors him, and to support driver Shane Stewart who carries Gordon’s charitable foundation “Kick It for Children’s Cancer” on his car. KNIA/KRLS caught up with Gordon during last night’s opening night of the Knoxville Nationals. He said it is an honor to see all of the cars he drove during his career in one place. Gordon wishes he could stay for the whole weekend, but he has a NASCAR race at Watkins Glen this weekend. He added that he had not been to the Knoxville Raceway since he drove in the Nationals in the early 90s.
