Veterans Affairs Commissioner Bob Gee was honored for his 19 years of service to Marion County on Thursday morning. Officials with Senator Tom Harkin’s office and the state veteran affairs board spoke during the meeting at the Courthouse, saying that Gee was a pleasure to work with and a great friend to veterans. Director Mike Kuhn presented Gee with a personalized clock, thanking him for all he’s done. Gee, who is a World War II veteran is moving to Colorado to be with family; his term ended August 31st. Afghanistan veteran Jodi Marti will take his place.
