The Knoxville School District finished Fiscal Year 2012 in very good shape financially. Business Manager Crag Mobley detailed the report to the School Board last week. It showed continued improvement in almost every financial aspect of the district.
Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says that the report is very good news. He explains that the board, administration, and community had to make some adjustments over the past few years to combat with declining enrollment, and the report shows the results they were looking for with those adjustments. The school district brought its solvency ratio from below zero a few years ago to now over 6%, something Dr. Flack says was necessary to show security for the school district’s future.
