Playing against programs more similar in size to their own for the first time this season, the Pella Christian volleyball team came away with a first place finish in pool play at Saturday’s North Mahaska Invitational. The Lady Eagles swept their way through their first three opponents, downing Lynnville-Sully, H-L-V and North Mahaska in two games each, before stumbling against a strong B-G-M squad 2-0 for their only loss on the day. The 3-1 showing on the day improves the Pella Christian volleyball team to 7-9 overall, entering another tough Little Hawkeye Conference opponent on Tuesday – Oskaloosa. The Lady Eagles and Indians split the conference title a season ago.
