The final sprint car races at the Knoxville Race for 2012 did not disappoint as the 410s and 305s came down to the final race. When the dust cleared, Terry McCarl took his seventh 410 track title by a mere 11 points over Davey Heskin was won the A-Main but with McCarl’s fourth place finish it was not enough to overcome a 36 point deficit heading into the A-Main. Matthew Stelzer also protected his point lead as he was crowned the 305 champion as he won by 71 points. The only class that had been decided was the 360s as Clint Garner had already clinched the title finished third in the 360 A-Main. White Lighting Racing owned by Driver Larry Ball Jr. won twice with Ball winning the 305 A-Main, and Dusty Zomer taking the 360 race. Zomer was subbing for Jamie Ball as he continues to recover from injuries suffered in a racing accident earlier in the season.
