Recent rainfall has pushed us over the edge and into higher than normal totals for the first time in six months. According to National Weather Service records, the Knoxville/Pella area has received 3.85 inches of rain this month, already an inch more than normal for August. This includes three days where we received over an inch of rain – from April through September, we only had two such days.

More rain is expected over the next week; however, climate projections for the next few months show precipitation well below normal with seasonably average temperatures.
