A fire broke out in the kitchen of the home at 1813 McKay Drive in Knoxville at approximately 5PM this afternoon. Knoxville Fire and Rescue, the Knoxville Police Department, and the Knoxville Township Rural Fire Departent responded to the scene. Black smoke billowed out of the house as firefighters arrived, and it took approximately 45 minutes for the fire to be extinguished. Knoxville Interim Fire Chief Greg Higgenbotham tells KNIA/KRLS News that no one was injured in the fire, and the cause is being investigated.
